I am a PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Disease Ecology Across Scales (IDEAS) Program in the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia. I am interested in behavioral and environmental determinants of parasite transmission in wildlife. My current research, under the direction of Dr. Sonia Altizer and Dr. Richard Hall focuses on understanding how humans feeding wildlife can influence the behavior and health of urban animals. I study populations of American White Ibis in South Florida to understand how feeding-induced behavioral changes in urban birds can alter the spread of infectious diseases.
Before coming to the University of Georgia, I received my B.S. in Biology from Bucknell University in 2018. At Bucknell, under the direction of Dr. Ken Field and Dr. DeeAnn Reeder, I conducted research on white nose syndrome in North American bats and pathogen co-infection dynamics in African fruit bats. |
